Q: What are the types of charges I could face?

A: Misdemeanors are handled in both the State and Municipal courts in Colorado. Misdemeanors are crimes which are punishable by fine or imprisonment for up to one year. Serious Misdemeanors can carry a possible maximum sentence of 18 months to 24 months in prison.
Felonies are very serious crimes. Felonies can carry a possible sentence of one year or more in prison.
